11th - Canoe Lake

Sunday June 5th, after swimming Echo Lake we decided to swim two more lakes within the Kepler-Bradley Recreation area. This is a state parks area and they will charge you for daily use, unless you are gone within 30 minutes. Canoe Lake is located behind Kepler-Bradley Lakes and the public access is located at the end of the lake. When we arrived we found abour 30 people from Alaska Pacific University conducting some bizarre activities associated with rubber tubes and making them float with a person in them. More than likely science and team building activities dealing with bouyancy. As Morgan said very loud and annoying! I proceeded past the APU students and into the water. The beginning of the lake very weedy and smells real bad, same thing once you reach the other end. The middle of the lake was fine. Total time to swim across and back was 24 minutes and 365 freestyle strokes to cross the lake in one direction. I felt pretty good after doing this lake, so we decided to go swim Irene which is located right up the road about half mile away.
