June 12th, 2010 Today myself and McKenzie went to Wolf Lake. Wolf Lake is located about 2.5 miles off of Bogard - about a mile from Colony High School. You will need to park along the road and walk along the trail to the lake about 100 yards. Once you reach the lake you will be located at the end of the lake, which makes it perfect if you want to swim the length. Water temperature cold probably around 60 F. It took me about 325 strokes (800 yards) to cross the lake. Total time was 20:30 minutes. This lake is real shallow with numerous weeds located throughout the lake. About the only place you will find weedless is in the middle and lily pads can be found on both ends. I wouldn't recommend swimming in this lake do to the weeds, which will only get worse throught the summer. After drying off we drove to Reed Lake located off of Wasilla-Fishhook around mile 7.3.
