June 10th, 2010 After swimming Seymour we drive a mile to Lalen Lake. Since the public access is at the end of the lake and the lake wasn't too large I decided to have McKenzie be a spotter. Thus, off I went and the first thing I noticed was that the smell was real fishy on shore but the water was pretty good. Like all the Meadow Lakes these lakes are shallow with a central area that is about 15 foot deep. After 465 strokes or an estimated 1200 yards I reached the other side. Coming back I had to avoid the lily pads that I didn't see coming across and a very large loon. Overall pretty good lake. Total time for across and back was 32 minutes. My shoulder was a little sore for some reason and I decided not to do the third lake Visnaw and will save that one for another day.
No health issue have arisen yet, but giardia is always on my mine.
Until next time, go catch a king salmon while you can.
